Protect My Emails

This feature provides automatic protection against malwares attached to emails.

i. Configuring Protect My Emails

To configure Email Protection, follow these steps:

  1. Open Quick Heal Total Security.
  2. On the left pane, navigate to Protection > Email Protection > Protect My Emails. Click the > icon to configure following further options.
    • Select Display alert message if you want a message when a virus is detected in an email or attachment.
    • Select Backup Files and Folder before taking action if you want to have a backup of the emails before taking an action on them.

    Note: The alert message on viruses includes the following information: Virus Name, Sender Email Address, Email Subject, Attachment Name, and Action Taken.

  3. In Attachment control settings, select an option for blocking certain email types and attachments.
  4. To save your settings, click Save.

ii. Attachment Control Settings

  1. Open Quick Heal Total Security.
  1. On the left pane, navigate to Protection > Email Protection >Attachment Control Settings.
  1. Select the options as required:
    • Block Attachment with multiple extensions: Helps you block attachment in emails with multiple extensions. Worms commonly use multiple extensions which you can block using this feature.
    • Enable attachment control: Helps you block email attachments with specific extensions or all extensions. If you select this option, the following options are activated:
      • Block all attachments: Helps you block all types of attachments in emails.
      • Block user specified attachments
        In the User specified extensions list, there are a number of extensions that are blocked by default. You can add more extensions, if required.
        i. To add an extension, type the extension in the text list and click + Add.
        ii. To remove an extension, select the extension and click the delete icon.
  1. To save your settings, click OK.
  1. Click Save to save the changes.
