You need to add your devices to metaProtect before you can start using it. If you are a super admin or admin your devices are listed in My Devices section.
The User Devices section contains the details of devices of users that you have added.
A. Adding your first device
- Click Add Device on the metaProtect dashboard screen.
- Enter you mobile number on the Verify Details dialog box and click Submit.
- Enter the OTP that is sent to your mobile number.
Your mobile number is verified. - Enter your device name and corresponding product key.
- Click Add.
Your device is added and listed in the devices section.
B. Adding Devices
- Click Add Device on the metaProtect dashboard screen.
- Enter your device name and corresponding product key.
- Click Add.

C. Transferring ownership of device
- On the left pane, click Devices.
You are redirected to the Devices page. - Select the device.
- To transfer the device ownership to a new user, click Transfer Ownership.
- Transfer Ownership dialog box is displayed.
- Select the new user and click Transfer.
The device is transferred to the new user.
D. Removing a device
- On the left pane, click Devices.
You are redirected to the Devices page. - Select the device and click Remove Device.
- Click Delete on the confirmation dialog box.
E. Device Features
To use these features, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Devices, select the device.
- In the Device Features section, click the Sync Score to sync the latest score from device to metaProtect.
F. Desktop Device Commands
The Desktop Device Commands feature in the metaProtect Console enables remote management of desktop endpoints. With Device Commands, you perform actions on a selected device.
On desktop endpoints, you can:
- Scan the device for threats or suspicious activity.
- Sync the device to retrieve the latest status and policy updates.
Running a Quick Scan
Use this command to initiate a Quick Scan on a selected desktop device. The scan checks for malware, suspicious files, and common security vulnerabilities. After the scan completes, the Success or Failed status is displayed in the console.
Follow these steps to run a quick scan on one of the added devices.

Log into the metaProtect console.

Navigate to Devices > Desktop Device List.

Select a desktop device from the list.

Click the Scan button in the Device Commands section. System initiates a Quick Scan on the device.
Scan progress and completion status are displayed in the console dashboard.
Syncing Device Settings & Details
Use the Sync command to retrieve the latest security policies, device details, and configuration settings from the endpoint. This ensures the MetaProtect Console reflects the most current information
Follow these steps to sync the device with the metaProtect console.

Log into the metaProtect Console.

Navigate to Devices > Desktop Device List.

Select a desktop device from the list.

Click the Sync button in the Device Commands section. System fetches updated settings, policies, and device status from the endpoint.
Latest information is displayed in the device details section.
Desktop Device Controls
The Desktop Device Controls feature in the metaProtect Console allows administrators to remotely manage security settings on desktop endpoints. These controls help enforce security policies, manage user access, and protect sensitive data.
- Firewall: Enable or disable network security to protect the device from unauthorized access.
- Ransomware & Virus Protection: Monitor the real-time protection status across all devices. Protection remains active by default.
- IDS/IPS: Enable or disable monitoring for network-based threats and suspicious activity.
- Parental Controls-Safe Browsing: Restrict access to inappropriate websites and apps on child devices.
- Parental Controls-App Lock: Block unauthorized access to selected applications.
- Screen Time: Set daily screen time limits for devices. Note: App-specific time limits are not supported.
- Youtube Supervision: Monitor and manage access to restricted YouTube videos, channels, and categories.
- Anti-Theft & Intruder alert: Enable features to detect unauthorized access attempts.
- Device Pin: Enable feature to enforce device PIN protection.
G. Mobile Device Commands
The Mobile Device Commands feature in the metaProtect Console enables remote management of mobile endpoints. Administrator can perform remote actions on a selected device. Available actions vary by device type.
- Scan: Initiate a security scan to detect threats.
- Sync: Refresh the device to retrieve the latest updates and policies.
- Ring: Trigger an audible ring to help locate the device.
- Locate: Display the device’s current location on the map.
- Lock: Remotely lock the device to prevent unauthorized access.
- Wipe: Erase all data from the device in case of loss or theft.
- Anti-Theft: Enable anti-theft protection features to safeguard the device.
Mobile Device Controls
The Mobile Device Controls feature in the MetaProtect Console allows administrators to remotely manage security settings on mobile endpoints. These controls help enforce security policies, manage user access, and protect sensitive data.
- Smart Parenting: Restrict access to inappropriate websites and apps on child devices.
Screen Time - Youtube Supervision: Monitor and manage access to restricted YouTube videos, channels, and categories.
- Theft & Intrusion Alert: Enable features to detect unauthorized access attempts
- Device Pin: Enable feature to enforce device PIN protection.
You can click the refresh icon if you think the device is not synced with the metaProtect console.
H. Device Details
This section displays the device name, owner, registered phone number, and email address.
You can change the device ownership or remove the device from this section.
I. License Details
This section displays the product license information, including validity.
If needed, you can renew the license directly from this section.
