You can uninstall existing antivirus before installing Quick Heal or during installation process of Quick Heal.
1. Uninstallation of existing antivirus before installation of Quick Heal
There are two ways to uninstall the existing antivirus before installation of Quick Heal:
- Click the Start button in the bottom-left corner of your device.
- Browse through the list of installed programs until you find the antivirus program you wish to uninstall.
- After you locate the antivirus program, select, and click it.
- Look for the Uninstall option, in the program's submenu.
- Click Uninstall option for the antivirus program.
- Follow the instructions that appear during the uninstallation process.
- Wait for the uninstallation process to complete. This may take a few moments.
After the process is finished, the antivirus program will be successfully uninstalled from your computer.
- Open Control Panel on your device.
- You can access Control Panel on the bottom left of your device by entering 'Control Panel' in the search box.
- Click Open in the Control Panel submenu.
- In the Control Panel window, click Programs.
- Under Programs, click Programs and Features.
- A list of installed programs appears. Locate the antivirus program you want to uninstall.
- Select the antivirus program.
- Click Uninstall or Remove button at the top of the program list or in the toolbar to start the uninstallation process.
- Follow the instructions that appear during the uninstallation process. These may include confirmation messages or prompts for additional actions.
- Wait for the uninstallation process to complete. This may take a few moments.
After the process is finished, the antivirus program will be successfully uninstalled from your computer.
a. Uninstall through the Start Menu
To uninstall an antivirus program through the Start Menu, follow these steps:

b. Uninstall through Add or Remove programs
To uninstall an antivirus program through the Add or Remove Programs feature in Control Panel, follow these steps:

- During installation of Quick Heal if existing antivirus program is detected, Quick Heal Total Security shows ‘Incompatible Program Detected’ message.
- Click Uninstall.
You are redirected to the installation/uninstallation screen of the existing antivirus program.
- Click UNINSTALL on the existing antivirus program screen.
- A message box will be displayed confirming you to proceed with the uninstallation.
- Click Yes to proceed.
- Follow the instructions on the uninstallation screen to uninstall the existing antivirus and click Continue.
Uninstallation for the existing antivirus starts.
- The success prompt for uninstallation is displayed with two options. Select the following option as required:
- Restart Computer: Save and close any other open programs on device and restart computer to complete the installation process of Quick Heal.
- Restart Later: Select this option if you have other programs open and you wish to continue with the installation process later.
- On device restart, Quick Heal will be installed.
3. Uninstalling Quick Heal Antivirus
Removing Quick Heal Total Security may expose your system to virus threats. However, you can uninstall Quick Heal Total Security in the following way:
- Select Start > Programs > Quick Heal Total Security > Uninstall Quick Heal Total Security.
- A screen appears, asking if you wish to receive an authentication code to verify your identity before proceeding with the uninstallation. Click Send Code.
Note that the users outside of India receive the code on the email address. - Enter the code into the designated boxes to validate the registered number/email. Click Verify Code. A verification success message appears.
- An uninstallation flow screen appears with these options:
- Remove Quick Heal and keep update definitions files – If you select this option, Quick Heal will save license information, all downloaded update definitions, reports, quarantined files, anti-spam whitelist/blacklist in a repository on your computer, so that these can be used during reinstallation.
- Remove Quick Heal completely – If you select this option, Quick Heal will be completely removed from your computer.
- Select one of the options and click Next to continue with the uninstallation.
If you have password-protected Quick Heal Total Security, an authentication screen appears. - Enter your password and click OK.
- Click Yes on the confirmation screen to proceed with the uninstallation.
A feedback form appears. Your feedback is valuable to us and it helps us improve product quality. - Provide the feedback as applicable and click Submit.
The uninstallation process is initiated.
Note: Note down the product key for future reference. You can save your product key information by clicking Save to file. Restart of your device is recommended after Quick Heal Total Security uninstallation. To restart click Restart Now, or click Restart Later to continue working on the system and restart after some time.
