There are several applications and malwares that try to access the webcam of your computer without your consent to capture your photos, thereby intruding on your privacy.
The malware attackers may then blackmail you for these photos.
Webcam Protection detects such malwares and helps you to take appropriate action to prevent such unauthorized attempts to intrude on your privacy.
i. Configuring Webcam Protection
To configure Webcam Protection, follow these steps:
- Open Quick Heal Total Security.
- On the left pane, navigate to AntiFraud > Webcam Protection. Turn Webcam Protection on by clicking the toggle button.
Note: Webcam Protection is enabled by default.
If Webcam Protection is turned on and any new application or browser tries to access the webcam of your computer, an alert message appears. You deny the permission if you do not trust the application.
- To add an application, click + Add. Browse to an application file, add it to the list, and set the access policy.
You can allow or deny the permission if you do not trust the application. The application is added to the allowed list with a corresponding toggle button to turn off or turn on the acces if required.

If you allow an application to access your webcam, you can select Alert me when an application accesses the webcam. Whenever the application with allowed access policy accesses the webcam, an alert message appears. If you do not select the checkbox, no alert message will appear.
If you deny access to an application, you do not need to select Alert me when an application accesses the webcam for such an application. - To save your settings, click Save.
