Performance Booster

Performance Booster helps improve your computer’s performance by running the following processes:

• Disk Cleanup: Finds and removes invalid and unwanted junk files from the hard disk drive. These files consume disk space and can slow down your system. Disk Cleanup also deletes temporary files, Internet cache files, improper shortcut files, garbage name files, and empty folders to free up disk space and improve system performance.
• Registry Cleanup: Removes invalid and obsolete registry entries that remain due to improper uninstallation or non-existent fonts. Invalid registry entries can slow down your system. This feature removes such entries to improve overall system performance.
• Traces Cleanup: Removes traces from Internet history and the MRU (Most Recently Used) list of various applications. It safely deletes browsing history, cookies, cache, auto-complete forms, and saved passwords to help protect your privacy. It also removes traces from popular applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Media Player, WinZip, and WinRAR.
• Defragmenter: Rearranges fragmented files, including page files and registry hives, into contiguous blocks to improve system performance and optimize disk access.

Boosting Performance

To execute Performance Booster, follow these steps:

1. Open Quick Heal Total Security.
2. Navigate to Performance > Performance Booster.
3. Click Boost Performance.

A circular progress bar displays the progress of the Performance Booster tasks. The tasks, including Disk Cleanup, Registry Cleanup, Traces Cleanup, and Defragmenter, are executed sequentially.

Restoring Files

You can restore previously deleted files or permanently delete them.

To restore or permanently delete files, follow these steps:

1. Open Quick Heal Total Security.
2. Navigate to Performance > Performance Booster.
3. Click Restore Files.
   A screen appears showing the list of files previously deleted by the cleanup tool.
4. Select the files that you want to restore.
5. Click Restore.
   A confirmation message appears after the selected files are successfully restored.
6. To permanently remove the previously deleted files, click Delete.
