Data Backup
Using Data Backup, you can take a backup of any kind of data you prefer. Taking a backup of the data is required for protection against ransomware attacks.
If any ransomware attacks happen, you can restore the backed-up data.
Turning Data Backup on
Toggle the button to turn on Data Backup.
Current Data Backup Details
The backup location, backup size, schedule, and the last backup taken time are displayed.
To change data backup location, follow these steps:
- Open Quick Heal AntiFraud.
- On the left pane, navigate to Features > Backup & Restore > Data Backup > Current Data Backup Details.
- Click Change Location.
A message appears that cautions that the data backed up till date will be moved to the changed location and the new backup of the data will be saved on this new location from now.
- Click Select Location and then browse to the new desired location. Click OK.
- Click Move Data. The previously backed up data is moved successfully. The next backups will be saved to the newly configured location.
Select types of files to backup
The backup files list includes three file categories: default, custom, and user specified. Data of the default file category is saved without fail. In order to back up the data from the custom category, you need to keep the file categories selected.
In the user specified category, you can add the file extensions for which you want backup or exclude certain file extensions of which you do not need backup.
Be careful while excluding any file extensions as these data will not be backed up.
To add or exclude file extensions, follow these steps.
- On the Data Backup screen, select the options for Select types of files to backup
- Default (Tally included): This option is selected by default. It includes the path for the Tally directory if installed.
- Advance: You can manually select the types of file to be backed up. To do so, click Configure.
The Types of Files to Backup list with file categories list appears. This list includes the following file categories. Some files are selected by default.
You cannot edit the default file types. Data of these files are backed up without fail.
User Specified Files: Displays the file extensions that have been added or excluded.
Manage File Extension: Click + Add to add desired file extension. Click OK.
Exclude File Extension: You can also exclude file extensions that you want to exclude from being backed up. Click + Add to add the files to the exclusion list. Click OK.
- Click Save to save the entries.
Manage Backup
Using Manage Backup, you can delete the backed up data or copy the backed up data from the current backup location to a different location.
You may change the backup location if you do not have enough space on the current location.
- Open Quick Heal AntiFraud.
- On the left pane, navigate to Features > Backup & Restore > Manage Backup.
- Click the > icon for Manage Backup to manage the backup settings.
The following options are available:
- Copy Backup: To copy the backed up data to a different location, click Select Location and then browse a location. Click OK and then click Start. The data back up will be copied to the new location.
- Delete Backup: The path to the backup location and the file size of the backup is displayed. If you do not need the backed up data, you may delete the backup to free the disk space.
Click Delete Backup to delete the backup files. A warning message appears. Read the message carefully. To confirm deletion, click Yes.
Restore Backup
Using Restore Data, you can restore the backed up data in case any ransomware attacks happen.
It is important that you back up your data to avoid any ransomware attacks.
- Open Quick Heal AntiFraud.
- On the left pane, navigate to Features > Backup & Restore > Restore Backup The restore backup screen appears with the following options:
- From Device: Use this option to restore data from current backup location on your device. Click From Device, a list of available backups is displayed. Select the backup you want to restore and click Next.
- From External Sources: Use this option to restore data from any other location where the backup is available. Click External Sources and then click Select Location to browse to the desired location. Select the backup file and click Next. Select location where you want to restore data by clicking Select Location and click Next.
The data is restored successfully.
