Dark Web Monitoring

Dark Web Monitoring helps you check whether your monitored information has been exposed in a data breach. Quick Heal Total Security lets you monitor information such as your email address and phone number so you can review potential exposure and take appropriate steps to protect your accounts.

Personal information can be exposed when an online service, website, or account is compromised. Dark Web Monitoring helps you identify potential exposure by checking your monitored information against available breach and exposure data.

About Dark Web Monitoring

Dark Web Monitoring checks the information you choose to monitor against available breach and exposure data. The results help you understand whether your monitored information has been associated with a known data leak.

An exposure result does not necessarily mean that your account has been accessed or misused. It indicates that your monitored information has been associated with available breach or exposure data.

Understanding Monitoring Results

The results are grouped into two sections to help you distinguish between leaks involving your monitored information and other information associated with those leaks.

  • Results with your info: Shows data leaks found for your monitored information.
  • Results with other info: Shows other information found along with your monitored information in a data leak.

The number of detected leaks is displayed for each type of information. Review the available details to determine whether an account or service may require additional security measures.

When Your Information Is Found in a Data Leak

If your monitored information is found in available breach data, review the details provided in the results. Depending on the available information, the results may include other details associated with the exposure.

Sensitive information may be partially hidden to help protect your privacy while allowing you to identify the information involved.

A detected leak does not automatically mean that an account has been accessed or misused. Review the available information and take appropriate precautions.

What to Do If Your Information Is Exposed

If the results indicate that your information may have been exposed, consider taking the following steps where applicable:

  1. Review the available leak details and identify the affected account or service, where possible.
  2. Change the password for the affected account.
  3. If you have reused the same password on other websites or services, change those passwords as well.
  4. Use a strong, unique password for each account.
  5. Enable two-factor authentication or multi-factor authentication if the service supports it.
  6. Review recent account activity for anything unusual.
  7. Be alert for suspicious emails, messages, calls, or websites that may use the exposed information.

What If No Exposure Is Found?

If no exposure is reported for your monitored information, no immediate action is required based on the available results. However, the absence of an exposure result does not guarantee that your information has never been exposed or will not be exposed in the future.

Continue to use strong, unique passwords, enable additional authentication methods where available, keep your software updated, and remain cautious when responding to unexpected messages or links.

Refreshing Monitoring Results

Dark Web Monitoring results are refreshed when you launch Quick Heal Total Security for Mac. You can also select Refresh to check for the latest available results.

Note: Dark Web Monitoring does not send notifications in Quick Heal Total Security for Mac.

Important Information

  • Dark Web Monitoring checks the information you choose to monitor against available breach and exposure data.
  • Monitoring results depend on the breach and exposure information available to the monitoring service.
  • An exposure result does not by itself confirm that an account has been accessed or that the information has been misused.
  • The absence of an exposure result does not guarantee that your information has never been exposed.
  • Dark Web Monitoring does not send notifications in Quick Heal Total Security for Mac.
