Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dark Web Monitoring?

Dark Web Monitoring helps you monitor selected personal information for potential exposure in known data breaches and exposed sources. It helps you become aware of potential risks so that you can take appropriate action.

Why should I monitor my information?

Information exposed in a data breach may increase the risk of unauthorized access, phishing, identity theft, or other security threats. Monitoring helps you identify potential exposure and respond to it.

How is Dark Web Monitoring data updated?

Dark Web Monitoring results are refreshed when you launch the application. You can also select Refresh to check for the latest available results.

Does Dark Web Monitoring send notifications?

Quick Heal Total Security for Mac does not currently send notifications for Dark Web Monitoring. To check the latest results, open Dark Web Monitoring in the application.

What should I do when an exposure is detected?

Review the exposure information and secure the affected account. Change the account password, avoid reusing the password on other accounts, enable two-factor authentication where available, and review the account for suspicious activity.

Does an exposure result mean that my account has been hacked?

No. An exposure result indicates that the monitored information has been associated with available breach or exposure data. It does not, by itself, confirm that someone has accessed or misused your account.

Does no exposure result mean that my information has never been exposed?

No. Dark Web Monitoring checks available breach and exposure data. No results do not guarantee that your information has never been exposed.

Can I stop monitoring information?

You can manage the information you have added for monitoring from the Dark Web Monitoring screen. Select Edit monitoring info to review or update your monitored information. Available options may depend on the information you want to change.

What is the difference between “Results with your info” and “Results with other info”?

Results with your info shows detected leaks associated with the email addresses or phone numbers you monitor. Results with other info shows other information found alongside your monitored information in a leak.
